It was wonderful to come together in person with the people profession and to build a shared learning community and support each other at our annual conference on Leading Workforce Transformation.
With lots of opportunity for engagement and interaction, our speakers and delegates alike shared insights on being more strategic as a profession, keeping a focus on culture and line manager development, connecting inclusion and belonging in addressing the talent and engagement challenges, while bringing family friendly and hybrid working policies to life.
Thanks to Roisin Walsh, Head of HR at publicjobs.ie, for pulling together some great take-aways from a fantastic day:
- Invest in and look after our line managers as we roll out new models of flexible working that demand new management capabilities.
- Look to our internal labour markets to build and grow talent pipelines as we struggle to attract and retain talent.
- Think long-term and strategically around workforce design and look at new models and modes of talent management – buy, build, borrow, bot!
- Policies and structures are useful but not always helpful when it comes to flexible working. Shift focus to individualised experience and devolve decision-making to teams.
- New ways of working should be values driven and underpinned by a flexible, inclusive and trust-based approach that puts people at the centre.
We also released our HR Practices in Ireland 2022 report, available here.
Thanks to all of you who attended and who helped to make it happen – speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, facilitators, delegates, and CIPD colleagues and many more.
